Towards a Curriculum open to Possibilities: Children’s protagonism and education’ is the title of the most recent book edited by Aldo Fortunati. It results from the work of a research group in San Miniato, one of the main experiences inside the general Tuscan approach to early childhood education. It describes new reflections on curriculum for early childhood – developing the idea that curriculum must be based more on opportunities than on aims and goals. It contains theoretical reflections – examples of documentation that make visible the protagonism of children – and finally a series of tools for observing, documenting and evaluating the experiences and competences of children and the quality of the ECEC setting.
